PRUNES—Spot prunes are firm under s fair jobbing and some export demand. Quotations range from 3c to 7c for all grades. APRICOTS—Rule generally firm, with cholce fruit attracting a falr jobbing demand at prices ranging from 7%c to 8c, while fancy are held at from 10¢ to 12%c. CHICAGO, June 23.—Trading in wheat was of rather small volume and prices were some- | what Irregular. The opening was easier on | indifferent cables, good harvesting weather in | the Southwest and on predictions of rains for the spring wheat States. July was %c to o | lower at 77% to 78¢, and September off e to | e at 15%c to T0%c. Shorts were good buy- | ers of July and that month advanced to T8%c, | while September sold up to T6K@76%ec. Com- | mission houses were active sellers at the ad- vance and a reaction followed, which was | helped some by realizing sales. There was a steady local inquiry for choice frults, and, as some of the boats were late, prices were firm for a few hours in the morn ing. The belated boats bm?z heavy supplies, however, and the market had a weak tone and presented a top-heavy appearance during the Egreater part of the day and there was a heavy surplus unsold at the close. Trading in basket fruit on the wharf was light at easier rates | and large quantities were hauled to the store to be disposed of. Berries were easfer. The canners bought Raspberries and Currants at the bottom quotation and secured some Logan- berries at 2c per 1b, about §1 60 per chest. There was continued firmness in choice black Cherrles in bulk, but packed stock was neglect- ed. Receipts of Figs were liberal and included some white. Prices of double-layer boxes were easier. Some choice Apricots were selling at slightly firmer prices, but the bulk of the of ferings were easy at previous prices. Quota- tions of other fruits in small packages gener- ally tended downward. Cantaloupes cleaned up quickly at good figures, and Grapes moved fairly ‘well.
