PITTSBURG, Pa., Nov. 22.—With no new freight to handle on Sunday an ex- cellent opportunity is given the railroads to break the freight congestion in this loeality, and in their efforts to accomplish this to-morrow will witness the greatest movement of freight ever known in the Pittsburg district. Between 12 o'clock to-night "and 5 o'clock Monday morning 40,00 cars of freight are to be moved by the Penn- sylvania, Baltimore and Ohilo, Pittsburg and Lake Erie and tributary lines. Freight trains will be made up as rapidly as the regular full forces, aided by hun- dreds of extra men, can get them to- gether. The trains will be run out fifteen minutes apart, with five minutes extra on the main lines to avoid danpger on curves and bridges. Officials of all the roads declared that after to-morrow there would be no need of any mills in the country shutting dow o e ot PANDO MUCH PREFERS POLITICS TO BATTLE Bolivian President Decides That He Will Not Lead the Acre Expedition. i LA PAZ, Bolivia, Nov. 22.—Owing to the approaching Presidential election, President Pando has decided not to lead the Bolivian expedition into Acre terri- tory. The expedition will leave about the middle of December. It will probably be | commanded by General Montes, Minister of War. La Paz will supply 300 men, Oruro and Cochamba 200 each and othér departments will contribute the rest of the 2000 soldiers required. Negotfations between Chile and Bolivia are &till secret. LONDON, Nov. 22.—When the hearing of the charges of cruelty against Mrs. Annie Penruddocke of Compton Park, ‘Wiltshire, was resumed at the Old Bailey Friday, the defendant was placed in the witness box and made a sweeping denial of all the charges brought against her. A number of her friends testified that they had never seen her daughter sub- jected to any cruelty. . The jury found Mrs, Penruddocke guilty of assaulting and neglecting her daughter in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering and injury to her health and censured ‘her husband for countenancing the cruelty. Their Majesties specially honored Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlain by sending a royal carriage and a King's equerry to meet them at the station. On their arrival at the castle King Edward, accompanied by the King of Portugal, met them at the foot of the — grand staircase and invited them to joim the royal circle for afternoon tea.
