Special Engagement of THEODORE ROBERTS | THEATRE Tre voyage from here to Honolulu and re- turn of the American-Hawallan steamship Nevadan is a record of one more success for ilquid fuel. Upon her arrival here from New York, fresh from the stocks, the Nevadan was converted into an oil burner and tle trip, which ended on Tuesday night when she ar- rived from Honolulu, was the first vovage since her conversion. The Nevadan is equip- ped with a low pressure system of spraying and it worked successfully, On her outward voyage the Nevadan averaged about ten knots and made the trip down in nine days, but was ten days coming up, owing to head winds and the fact that she was loaded lightly. In spite of the length of the homeward voyage, how- ever. the big freighter arrived with sufficient oil_in her tanks to carry her back to Honolulu. Shortly after leaving the Hawallan port a live pig was picked up from the ocean, taken on board, christened Dennis and installed as the ship’s pet. The name was prophetic of disaster for the pig. A too Inquisitive nature spoiled Dennis as an agreeable shipmate and after a week of strenuous trespaseing he was doomed to death. There was roast pork, full and plenty, fore and aft for two days and Dennis was only a memory. Harbor Commission Meets.
