Francis X_.Lm-kin ‘Welcomed by Congregation of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church. The Rev. Francis M. Larkin, the newly appointed pastor of Grace Methodist Epis- copal Church, corner of Twenty-first and Capp streets, arrived in the city yester- day and will at once assume charge of his pastorate. The Rev. Dr. Lark.c was tendered a re- ception last night in the church edifice and was greeted by a large number of his flock. The local Mipisterial Union of the Mission, the Methodist ministers of this city and representatives of the Californ'a conference united in extending the uew pastor a cordial welcome. Robert Husband presided at the recep- tion. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. M. Kerr of Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Rev. A. C. Bane of the Cali- fornia-street Methodist Episcopal Church and Dr. F. D. Bovard, editor of the Cali- fornfa Chfistian Advocate. The address of weicome was made by E. E. for Grace Church. Dr. Larkin has been connected with the Southern California Conference of the Methodist Episcopal church for the past twelve years. He is 39 years of age and has met with much success in all his ap- pointments. He was for four Ke&n pastor of the University Church of Angeles. receiving in that period 460 members.
