F., July 11.—The colonial cruiser Fiona is ashore near Codroy, within a few miles of the scene of the wreck of the British ship Mareotis, bound from Montreal for Liverpool, which went ashore on June 26 at Cape Anguille, on the southwest coast of Newfoundland. The Fiona struck during a dense fog and it is feared she will not get off. The steamer Regulus_tried vainly to tow her off, but failed. Wrecking tugs have been ordered to her assistance.
