Spring Valley Water was firmer at 393, Contra Costa Water at 375 and Market-Street Raflroad at $52. In the afternoon the water stocks were rather weaker and Gas and Electric was also off slightly. Otherwise there was no change. here was a moderate business in the ofl stocks. The Spring Valley Water Company will pay a dividend of 42 cents per share to-day. This is_at the rate of 5 per cent per annum. The Hawailan Commercial and Sugar Com- pany has declared a dividend of 50 cents per share, payable on the 25th.
