WEEK ago Monday the big ship Hyderabad was caught in a terrific storm. A heavy sea struck her under the counter and disabled her steering gear. The ship became unmanageable and went over until her lee rail was under water. Sails had to be cut loose in order to save the masts, and when that danger was past Captain Scott found his vessel almost on the Farallones. The decks were full of water and five men were injured while trying to brace the yards. Finally to save his vessel from the rocks the three lower topsails had to be cut away and then the Hyderabad escaped by a shave. B R e 0ie i e eseceseg for Manila for Manil; | | hcuses in the city. Suit was filed yéster- | day by fifteen under officials in the Health Office to enjoin the new board from dis- | pensing with their services and appointing others to fill the vacancies. The plaintiffs in the action are: Otto Lunders, health inspector; Thomas H | McGrath,” health inspector; P. F. Ward, | plumbing inspector; J. J. Dunne, secre- tary: J.
