Do Not Be Alarmed, but Look for the Cause. Heart troubles, at least among the Americans, are certainly increasing, and while this may be largely due to the ex- citement and worry of American business life, it s more often the result of weak stomachs, of poor digestion. Real organic discase is incurable: but 1ot one case in a hundred of heart trouble is organic. The close relation between heart trouble and poor digestion 18 because both organs are controlled by the same great nerves, the Sympathetic and Pneumogastric. In another way, also, the heart is af- fected by the form of poor digestion, which causes gas and fermentation from half digested food. There s a feeling of pression and heaviness in the chest caused by pressure of the distended stom- ach on the heart and lungs, interfering Wwith their action; hence arfses palpitation and short breath. Poor digestion also poisons the blood, making it thin and watery, which Irritates and weakens the heart. The most sensibie treatment for heart trouble is to improve the digestion and to Insure the prompt assimilation of food. This can be done by the regular use after meals of some safe, pleasant and ef- fective digestive preparation,’like Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets, which may be found at most. drug stores and which contain valuable, harmless digestive elements in e pleasant, convenient form. It is safe to say that the regular persis- tent use of Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets at meal time will cure any form of stomach srouble except cancer of the stomach. | Full sized package of these tablets sold by drugglsts at 50 cents. DEL MONTE, March 18.—The Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific con- taining a2 mass of weighty data. The cluded its last session at this place at 10 o'clock to-night and adjourne to San Frencisco. This course was necessary for the reasons—first, because the business was unfinished and second, because the members of the board cannot remain here longer than to-morrow. Three long ses- sions were held to-day. The morning session was devoted to fur- ther consideration of rates for San Fran- cisco, which resulted in action making some reduction of rates in downtown dis- | tricts of the city, chiefly in connection with what is_ called coinsurance. The reduction will be made in some instances only—not in all. The competition of board companies with non-board companies was given further consideration, but no action beyond that of yesterday was taken. The chief question before the board at both afternoon and evening sessions ferred to insurance solicitors and was dis- cussed in two phases—first, as regards compensation to be paid solicifors, and second, as to qualifications needed to en- title a man to be a solicitor. No definite action was taken in either. y The members of the board-will leave here to-morrow morning and open their final session in San Francisco on Mon- day morning.
