Iichael Barry';mdiAnother Man Could Not Resist the Sight of Gold. Captain L. Dower of the schooner Sa- rah through an injudicious display of his cofn was robbed by two men on Second and Herrison streets yesterday morning. One of the footpads was captured. Dower had changed a $20 gold piece in a barber's £hop, where he had been shaved, and af- ter leaying the shop he met Michael Bar- ry, @ laborer, and another man, Barry @sked him for'ten cents to get a “bracer.” and he pulled the change out of his pock- et. The sight of the gold was too much for Barry and he grabbed a $5 gold’ plece and ran. The other man also made a rab and_got about $9 60. Dower pursued arry and was joined by a crowd of small boys. Policeman O'Connor saw the crowd and at Bryant street captured Barry. O’Connor took Barry to the patrol box after putting the handcuffs on one of his wrists, and while they were standing there walting for the wagon Barry hit Dower a terrific blow on the nose with his et disengaged fist.
