He makes his home at the Gilsey House when in town. 1 saw David Belasco on the elevated train the other morning, and I was ag-ee- ably surprised at his improved appenr- ance—better looking and more dignified. He scarcely looks a day older than he dia ten years ago when nhe used to pull his frowsy black bair and stamp about the Baldwin Theater stage, directing rehear- sals for Daniel Frohman’s stock com pany, which was sent to fill a month’s engage- ment at the Baldwin.
