All His Property Bequeathed to Rev. Josepa Sasia and Rew. Alcysius Varsi The will of the venerable Father An- thony Maraschi, 8. J., was filed for pro- bate yesterday. The estate of the de- ceased consists of real estate, one lot on McAllister street in this City valued at $12,500, a lot on Silver street worth $2500 and land in Contra Costa County, being a part of San Pablo rancho, the value of which is unknown. The will is presented for probate by Father Aloysius Varsi, who states that Father Joseph Sasia, the other peron named as executor, has been absent from the State for two years and is now at Tu- rin, Italy. Following is the full text of the instrn- men In the name of God, amen. I, Anthony Ma- raschi, of the City and County of San Fran- cisco and State of California, being of soand mind snd memory and understanding, do publish and declare this to-be my last #nd testament, hereby revoking any ana sll former wilis by me made. I nominate, constitute and appotnt Rev. Jo- seph_sasia and Rev. Aloysius Varsi, both of the City and County of San Francisco, State of Caltfornis, exectitors of this, my will, and specially waive their giving bonds or security of any kind for the rusts reposed in them. Either may act as exscutor if the other will Dotor cannot act as such. Igive, devise and bequeath tomy said ex- ecutors all my estate, real, personal and mixed of every name, nature and description, and wheresoever the same is situate. In case either of my seid execntors be desd before my own death, T give, devise and bequeath all my said estate 10 the survivor of the two, so that nothing should go to the heirsof the deceased. Tdo declare that I have no wife and leave no jssue, and that with full knowleage and de- liberation I give and bequeath nothing to my relatives. Iauthorize and_empower my said executors or executor to sell the whole or any partofmy real estate at pubijc or private sale for cash or op credit, as they or he may deem advi and without any order of sale from any court for such purpose and without any order of confirmation of any such sale from any court. In witness whereof I have hereuntoset my hend end seal this 25th day of April, 1884, A. MARASCHI, 8. J. The instrument is entirely in the hand- writing of the testator, and is witnessed by John M. Burnett and David I. Maho- ney. In early days Father Maraschi bought large tracts of real estate in this City, the greater part of his purchases being for the benefit of the church which he repre- sented. It was noticed that he generaliy gave preference to property at that time considered beyond the limits of the prob- able growth of the City. The soundness of his juigment was demonstrated by the fact that lots and blocks for which he paid hundreds of dollars may now be so'd for millions. 1If he had chosen to invest for himself, instead of on behalf of hiscnurch, he might bave been one of the wealthiest men of the City or State. In comparison with those hoidings the Blythe block would have been as a drov in the bucket.
