The circular of the Cutting Packing Company says of canned samon: “The se son of packing spring run of fish on the Columbla River closed the 10th fust., and although during the Iast days of July the run had been small & large quantity of fish came in early August, with the result of bringing the volume of the pack up 10 approxi- mately 440,000 cases. The fish kept up iu size &nd qualiLy (o the ena of the season, and 5o plenti- ful were they that some fishermen were willing snd anxious to sell their catches at less than yegu- lation prices of 434 cents per pound.
