The occasion for this social transforma- tion was the “winding up’ of the Letter- carriers’ Mutual Aid Association, whose icnic was held on the 4&h inst. ag Schuetzen Park. The method of wind- ing up was by tbe giving of tbeir anniver- sary ball, at which the 150 prizes won by the locky picnic competitors were dis- tributed. The hall was profusely decorated for the occasion, and both gallery and main Seor were crowded with the members of the association snd their many friends from all parts of the city.
