The case is set for the fifth day of July for trial, and an order has been made by the judge for the prisoner to be delivered by the jailer at Louis- ville to Gen. Collier, who is to escort him here and deliver him to Jailer Sutherland. If the distinguished party does not arrive on the asfter- noon train on the Fourth, they will likely get here on the cannon ball the next morning. This is something unusual in the affairs of Mayfield, and the spectacle will be viewed with much interest, It is not known where the military company will encamp, but presuma- bly as near the jail as they can get. Very little has been said aboui the case up to this time, and itis not very probable an attempt will be made to lynch Blanks, OLY A SPREE. Jas. E, Brannon was taken up yesterday on a writ of luaacy and found by a jury in the circuit court to be out of alignment. He told the Judge he had been on a spree, and the judge thought a few days’ con- finement in jail might restore his mind to its usual balance, and ordered him into the custody of the jailer till ‘Fhursday. After which, if be does not improve, he will be sent to the asylum. He said he was originally from Ohio, but had been working in the south for some time, He came to town Sunday, and threatened sev- eral with violence before he was taken into custody. —Mayfield Mirror, WILL OPEN AUGUST 19, Mr. W.
