MRS. WILL HILLS DIES. ons of a Lady. Mrs. H. Will Hills, wife of the popular young dispatcher of the N., C. & St. L, died yesterday after- noon late at the Broadway infirmary of puerperal convulsions. She had been in ill Lealth for some time, and her mother was with her when the summons came, Mrs Hills was formerly a Miss Thompson, of Michigan, and was a most estimable lady. She had been married about two years. The funeral took place this morn- ing from the residence, 224 North Eighth street, under the auspices of the Maccabees, and the remains were shipped at noon to Metamora, Mich., for interment. Quite a Romantic Affair There was considerable excite- ment at the wharf this morning about 8 o'clock. A young man sod a young lady appeared and engaged rooms on the Dick Fowler for Me- tropolis. y walked about for a short while, but seemed to be uneasy, and finally a brother-in-law of the young lady went to the ferry boat and asked Capt. Owen if it would leave before the Fowler. He was told that it would, and the couple forthwith boarded it and got off at Brooklyn. Soon afte: the ferryboat had gone, however, the young man's mother and aunt arrived on the scene, and learving that the couple had gove on to Brooklyn to catch the Fowler there, they took took passage to Me- tropolis and were aboard when the ‘ouple got on at Brooklyn. The young man was Roy Scott, of Mechanicsburg, and the girl Miss Della Wicks, of the same place. They eloped to elude parents. It was the second elopement cf the young lady, according to reports, she having eloped with another young man some time siove, but was inter- cepted by parents. The young people, when they boarded the boat at Brooklyn, were no doubt surprised to see the old folks, and what then transpired is only s matter of conjecture, They went cn to Metropolis, bat were not uarried, according to a telegram from the Sux's correspondent there, who said the ceremony was not per mitted to take place When the news of the elopement became known in Mechanicsburg there was more of a stir than had been perceptible in the peaceful little suburb for some time, on account of the young people being so well known.
