A meeting of the Federated Mothers' j¢lubs was held on Monday afternoon at the library building, st which about thirty {members were present. It was agroed at this meeting to carry on as Active mem- | bers all who had ever been placed upon the roll. Under the old ruling all who ! did mot succeed to office each year would be excluded from membership after their term had expired. After cardful consider- ation the members voted to retain as members all those who had ever belonged to the organization and mot to limit the membership. Plans were also discussed for an evening meeting to be held In February, at which time the teachers will be able to meet with the mothers. The Fortnightly meeting of the Atlas club was held on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Dr. Harrlet Hamlilton. The meeting opened with a discussion of cur- rent toples which was led by Mra. Lyman Shugart. Mrs. Robert Peregoy told of the first colony of Australia and Mrs Elmer Shugart gave an interesting paper on the Island of Java. Mrs. W. I. Prizes were won for high score by Mrs. Lee Evans and Mr. Duquette, January 14 the club will hold its regular meeting at the home of Mra. Peter Jensen. The L. T. club was entertained at 1 o'clock luncheon Wednesday by Mrs. J. ¥. Spare. After the luncheon, gifts were exchanged through the medium of a grab bag, and the rest of the afternoon was spent in sewing and visiting. A club guest was Mrs. Knoblauch of North Dakota. Mrs., Gordy and Mrs, Quick assisted Mra. Spare. Fred Johnson told of Shintolsm, Mrs, T, E. Cavin gave a his- tory of Buddhism and Mrs, W. H. Dudley gave a paper on Confuclanism, which was the religion of the scholar. Mrs. Terwilliger will be hostess to 'the club again next Tuesday. The regular meeting of the Child Con- mervation league has been postponed till January 20 on account of the funeral of General Dodge. Mr, and Mrs. G. A. Peake of Des Moines and Miss Marian Saunders, who has been attending Drake university, spent the holidays with Colonel and Mra, C, G. Saunders.
