o Lincol ‘n Pounds St. Josep THE ' BEE: OMAHA, MONDAY, JUN 0= 1910. h for Two: Si oux City Jumps N otcl';; Cubs \Xfin Close On 1ZZIES - WIN LOOSE CAME Sunday Game at Vinton Park Was Comedy of Errors. OMAHA LOST, Omaha Flelders Used Thelr Feet in Place Heads and Hands, with Thompson in Errors. of eading An exhibition of errors and heavy elugging on the part of both Omaha and Wichita were tiie features of the game at Vinton street park Sunday afternoon. Omaha made the most errors, which, coupled with hard batting by the Izzles, gave the game o the visitors by a score of 11 to & The booting became so general that it Jost its serious aspect and the big bunch of fans and fan sat back and laughed at the efforts of the players. Omaha was particularly strong on foozles, making six, the most of which were in- excusable. Thompeon, who has been play- ing a clean game at second, was the worst offender. He made two, both of which gave Wiechita a run. None of the bingles made by the Izzles put runs over the plate, but they did start scores when hits followed them. Melter was the choice of Captain Schipke to take the scalps from Isbell's proteges, but his hunting knife was not sharp enough and they landed on him hard. Eleven hits and eleven ruré were made off him In six fonings. Two-Baggers Fashionable, Belden, the first man at bat, rapped one to Thompson, which was booted. This scemed to give Wichita courage, as the next two n touched big Steve for a two- bagger After Belden got to first, Middieton made the fivst double and scored him. Claire placed one for two stations in almost the same spot as Middieton and scored the latter. After Hughes went out, Isbell singled and scored Claire. He was caught at second when Welch flelded his hit and threw him out. Westerzil was hit by a pitched ball and Gonding caught him at second when he attempted to steal. The sixth was the real bad inning for the Rourkes, Hughes hit a triple to right and Isbell smashed out another triple to left. Westerzil hit a hot grounder to Thompson which he booted and lzzle came home. Koerner went out, Melter to Kane. Shaw singled and reached second on the throw to that bag, Jarnigan hit one to Schipke, who made a foozle, and Shaw went to third. Belden hit safe and scored Shaw. Middleton poked out a single and Jarnigan and Belden raced home. Schipke Makes Double Play. Claire hit one to Schipke that he caught and made a double by throwing Middleton out before he could return to first. Sanders was sent in the next Inning and pitched tight ball, allowing but one hit during the remainder of the game. Omaha batted heavily In streaks. Two runs each were made in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Harry Welch was the real batting boy. He got a home run, with one on, two doubles and a single. His clouting brought In three of the eight runs made and he mlso scored after he had hit a two-bagger and Sanders hit a triple. And by the way, that triple of Sandy's was the first hit he has made this season. Double plays were common during the contest. Omaha made four and Wichita made two. Melter got one unassisted when he caught Middleton's drive and touched first before Belden could get back. Monday is designated as ladles’ day and & blg bunch of bugettes will ke entertained at the park. Score: OMAHA. AB. =] King, of. Corridon, ss Kane, 1b ‘Thompson, 2b Schipke, db. Gonding, ¢ ‘Welch, rf.
