New Head for the City Sel en o of Frank A. Fitzpatrick intendent of the Omaha schools will be tendered to the Board of Education at the next meeting. While this will be in the pols Must Be as suj nature of a surprise to the general publio it has been known for some time by Super- intendent Fitzpatrick’s intimate friends that such a step was under consideration. arly in the summer Mr. Fitzpatrick re- ceived a flattering offer from the American Book company to accept a position in their New York office. The offer was taken under consideration, but it was not nntil Tues- day alternoon that it was finally accepted. Mr. Fitzpatrick formally notified the mem- bers of the board of his decision yester- day, and his resignation will be presented for ‘acceptance at the next meeting. Mr. Fitzpatrick has been superintendent of sehools in this city for the past two years. Previous o this he occupled a similar position at Leavenworth, Kan., and most of his life has been spent in educational work. In speaking of his approaching de- parture one of the members of the board said yesterday that under the circume stances the board could do nothing but ac- cept his resignation, but that they should regret to I official whose service had been excepticnally satistactory. Mr. Fitzpatrick said that he had delayed accepting the position offered him for some time, but that the inducements offered were s0 much greater than he could obtain here that he felt compelled to accept. Thers was no dissatisfoction on his part with his present position, but it was purely a ques- tion of salary. Mr, Fitzpatrick will enter on his new duties on October 1 As far as can be learned nothing has been decided on with reference to the selection of a successor. There is still a month in which to make a selection, and it is consid- ered probable thut at least half of that time will be spent In considering the rolative merits of prospective candidates. I had the good fortune to receive a small bottle of Chamberlain's Colie, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy when three members of my family were sick with dysentery. This one small bottle cured them all and 1 had some left which I gave to George W. HBaker, & prominent n ant of the place, Lewls- ton, N. C., and it cured him of the same mplaint.—K. Bazemore. When troubled with dysentery, diarrhoea, colic or cholera morbus, give this remedy a trial and you will be more than pleased with the result.
