Freeman, cashier of the Little Sioux Savings bank, is credited with having played an odd game on the institution for which he wus working, according to the statements made in & peution filed in the district court yestorday. It alleges that on the 7th of last February one G. R. Bridge- man owed the plaintiff 2,025, which was se- cured by a mortgage on a lov of catue, and Le ulso owed the defendant 81,115, which was not sceured in any way. On the date avove mentioned it states that Freeman took advantage of bis position as cashier and cou- solidated all his own claims against Bridge- tan with those of the bauk, credited his own account with 31,115, and took that smount out of the bank's finds, with Intent to de- fraud the bank, and without the knowledge of anv of the other ofticers of the bank. Recently the location of thy hay market was ordered changed from Tweuty-sixth street, bevweon M and N stroets, to Twenty- seventh street, uear the Union Pacific depot This was done ut the cornest solicitation of the Twenty-sixth strect business men, and it was thought the arrangement would prove very satisfactorry. But such does not seem to be the caso and unless different arrangements arc made the South Omaha hay market wiil become a thing of the past. Tre farmers who brinz their hay and grain 1o this city for market strenuously object to the new location and threaten Lo give South Omuha the cold shoulder and wo on into Omauha to find & mavket.
