Delogations came in from tne surrounding towns, every train bringing 1n its quota. The reception committee, which had been ap- poiuted by the citizens wo meet Ohio’s gov- ernor, went to Lincoln on the morning train and escorted him to Omaua, where they were re-enforced by a large number of citizens and brought to this side of the river. Dalvey’s band led the march to the Grand hotel, discoursing music along the way The nddress was advertised to commance at 2:30 o'clock, and before that time the grand stand av the driving park was well fillea with @ very warm but very eager crowd, who awaited the governor's arrival, and still tho crowd was coming. At last he came, drawa by o fins toam of horses and accom- panied by a number of prominert citizens, who escorted him amid loud applause toa platform that had bien improvissd in froant of the grand stand, where he was to make his aadress, He was accompaniad on the platform by Chairman J. Throughout 1t was a masterly de- fensc of the law which bears his name, as well as of the American tariff as a whole. Ho frequently was compelled to stop until the cheering of the audience had died away sufficiently so that his voico could be heard. At the ciose af his address the governor was taken to the Grand hotel, where he held an informal reception, during which a large number of citizens took advantage of the op- portunity of meeting him. He was thon taken in chargo by a committee of Omani citizens, who took him to the other side of the river, where he is booked for an address tonight. A young man named Burrowes was re- ported to the police yesterday morning as being among the missing.
