South Side Pleasure Grounds Still Unde- cided Upon, The Board of Park Commissioners met yesterday aftornoon and accomplished a good deal of argument and transacted a very littlo business, After the usual accumula- tion of bills had been approved the question of a park on the south side was taken up. At the last meeting the board resolved to purchase no land until ai least sixty acres should be obtainable. This cortroverted the plans of several owners of property in Clark & Sautter's addition who wanted to sell a plat of land to the city for a park. They were on hand yesterday with an additionsl propos- ition, but as they still failed to reach the sixty-acre limit the matter was postponed in- definitely. R. S, Berlin, representing the county com- missioners, said that the board was ready to assist the park cowmission in any way and specifically in the vacation of that portion of Leavenworth stroet which passes through E.mwood park.
