Coroner's Inquest Over Henry G Without the Coroner. The Inquest over the body found in Flor- ence lake on Monday afternoon was set by Coroner Harrigan for 2 p. m. yesterday at Burket's undertaking establishmant. When the time arrived aoout one hundred members of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, the Treubund and the Druids, of which orders Henry Giclow, the supposed dead man, was a member, wero gathered at point named for the purpose of attending inquest and_ determiming the identity of body in order to pay over to the widow &),700 insuranco which Gielow carried in these orders, and also to see that the body was proverly cared for. The body was placed on the marblo slab wheroe the post mortem examination had been performed, and where the coroner had di- rectea that it be allowed to remain until after it had been viowed by the jury. The corpse waus swollen past all recognition, and badly decomposed. It gradually became noised about that the coroner was out of town. At the coroner's hendquarters it was stated that Dr, Harri- gan had gone out of town early Tuesday morning, and the statement was corroborated at his office, Diligent efforts on the part of tne irato members of the benevolent societies men- tioned failed to unearth any person who had een deputized to act as coroner in the ab- sence of Harrigan, and the county ettorney was appealed to for advice. He called on Sherill Boyd to hold the inquest in the ab- sence of the coroner, and the proceedings were finally commenced, It was necessary to hold the inquest in_an- other placo, aud a vacant room in the vicin- ity was sccured. Dr. Coulter, the first witness, testified that he hud made A post mortem examunation of the body and had found nothiug to indicate external violence. From the condition of the heart he was of the opiuion that death had been caused by diowmng. Tho doetor iden- tified a plain gold ring as one taken from the right nand of the body, and a ring of keys and stub of a check book s haying been taken from the pockets of the clothing. He testi- ficd also that there was no doubt the body was that of a white man of medium neight, who had brown hair and a brown mustache. The body had a scar on tho right breast near the third rib, evidently the result of a burn, Dr. Lucke had known Herry Gielow and had seen the body. Giclow had a scar on his breast in the sumo place as that on the corpse, and he was positive the body was that of Gielow. Tho doctor also identified the ring as one worn by ( ow. ke and Dr. Hamilton testificd ow ified that he had received 1o message from Florence at S p, m Monday and hud made efforts to find the cor- ouer, but had been unable 10 locate him until 11 o'clock Monday night. Nearly all of the others cases where the cause of death was equally as well knowu. In addition to this bill Prof. Mucller, the chemist, has a bill of 200, §100 of which is for examining a_ stomuach and the other 2100 for examiving o liver.
