Enclosed was a clipping from Tie Bee of o few days ago, with an account of the arrest of William Allen, who had for two years been supposed to be dead 1t also gave a brief history of the man's ca- reer as a criminal, mentioning incidentally that he escaped from Texas authorities four years ago and was a fugitive from justice. It stated that he was not held because it not known in what county in Texas he wa wanted or whether the Texas authorities would care to come after him, The sheriff of Waco wrote that he was anx- fous to get hold of Allen, and would gladly come after him if he could be re-urrested. It _is understood that Allen is now in the Bluffs, at least he was there a few days ago. Albright’s Choice makes money. A YOUNG THIEF, Frank Lanning Robs His Hostess of & Large Sum, A fourteen-yearold boy eiving the name of Frank Lanning was arrestod a short time ago with $492 in his possession, He was held two or three days, but as nothing could be learned concerning him he was allowed to proceed to Lusk, Wyo,, where he said his mother lived, but the money was held to await orders as to what disposition should be made of it. The boy said that he had been east with his mother, and that when they arrived here hesaw a man at the depot whom he used to know, and his mother gave him permission to stay over hero fora day or two to visit with his old acquaintance. Ie explained having the money in his possession by saying that his mother allowed him to carry it, and that when she proceeded on her journey she forgot to take it. Subsequent developments now prove that the youngster is an artistic and highly prom- ising liar. 1t transpires that the boy's correct name is Frank Motris, and that the assumed name of Lanning is that of his step-grandfather. It seems thut Morris' parents separated eleyen years ago, and since that time the father has by i at Kirkland, 111, and the mother at l’m\n.l where sne married again, The boy 1 lived with his mother, A few W ago 7 to Kirkland to visit his and while on his home stopped at Norris, 1L, to visit a 1 of his mother, While there be stole 500 belonging to that lady and started west.
