The chiet bear influ- ences were the demoralization In stocks at New York, and danger of fallures in financial clreles in the east and abroad; later in the day the visible supply figures showed an In- crease execeding the estimate; stocks In coun- try elevators In the northwest were also largely inereased. The day opened with trade completely unsettled over Wall street reports, where the break in values over night was the most general fnyears, Trouble was also ex- tod at Boston, growing out of 1ine In copper shares abre The wheat market started with sules for December all the way from (73gc down to 97%c, with 97%c a fulr open- Ing price, and May $1.04 to $1.04: § 800N U8 the flurry wus over the market became firm and madea falr recovery to 9sie for Deceni- ber and #1.04% for May, or just lic under the close Saturday for cach month. When the market paused at those figures, attention wus 1 turned to the stock market und to the posted reports on the visible wheat. New York increased its wheat 362000 bushels, Minneapolls 47,000 and Chicago 23,000 The total visible supply Increased 1,464,000 bushels, Country elevators in Minnesota and the Dukotas increased their stocks 1,400,000 bushels for the week, Recelpts at Minneapo- 1is and Duluth today were 917 cars; Chicago 162 cars, or 60 cars over the estiniate. Buylug by Logan & Co. and Boyden & Co. v stopped, and when wheat. offered it found no takers, A fow houses began selling. Dun- ham & Co. were conspleuons; Lamson sold sly; Hutehinson began selling bears turned in and sold, and a sharp decline fol- lowod. December sold down 1%e from the top point 1o $3c, and May dropped to $1.03%. There was a rally to 97% for December and .04 tor May, and the markcet beeame more settled agabout fe under the elosing prices of last week, Cables were not a factor in the market atany time.
