Reports From the Various State Insti- tutions ~-Emerald Citizens Want A Depot — OCaptain Hill's Successor. 1020 P Strest, LixcoLy. August 7. A new industry will be augurated in Lineoln on the 1st of September that prom ises to bo a big thing for the city. Messrs, Stout & Buckstaff have associated them sclyves with a few outside capitalists and a putting in a vitrified brick plant at the corner of L.and Sixth strect, with forty of th latest drying tunnels and seven kilns, th will employ 150 men and prepare 100,000 brick for the tunnels every day. The shed covering the tunnels will be 140 feet square. The enterprise will be known as The Vitri- fled Brick Manufacturing company of Lincoln, At this time 140 men are employed at the plant, putting in muchinery and working with might and main 10 get the yard ready so that active busincss can be commenced at the time stated. It is confidently expected that the company will | be able to turn out 21,000,000 brick cach year, or as many each day as they have doi- lars invested the enterprise. This venture will certainly prove of great beneiit to the city. It will provide steady summer employ meut for a large number of men and a ¢ of brick for the building public necded o day.
