Our readers have doubtless often noticed that Hood's Sarsaparilla is well spoken of in the newspapers. | The press is quick to recognize merit, and does not hesitate to give praise where it is due. The following is from the Baptist Weekly, a leading religious paper: “Advertising may bring an article prominently before the public, but no advertising can long help it if it has not real merit. Hood’s Sarsa- parilla is well advertised; but the best proof of its value is that so many persons use it on the recom- mendations of friends who have proved its peculiar virtues.” Whisky would be everywhere dis- tilled if the surveillance of the gov- ernment were withdrawn by the remission of the tax, and illicit sales could not then be prevented even by a policy as rigorous and searching as that with which Russia pursues the nihilists.
