At 1 procession of 800 traveling men, eac ing a linen duster, plug hat, white gloves and carrying a cane, formed into line and marched and countermarched to the music of the Germania cornet band through th principal streets of the city, and as the pro cession passed along the thoroughfares, shout after shout unded from the throats of thousands of interested spectators, compli- menting the boys by royal ovation and hearty sal t welcome. Flags wa from the windows and the streets werc literally packed by the swarms of patriotic people, and chieer after cheer went up along the line it gave encouragement and power of endurance to withstaud the burn- ing rays of the sun.
