Kranser, Neb., June 19.—(Special Tele gram to Tas Bes]—About 7 o'clock this evening & cyclone passed over Kearney,which did considerable damage in the southwest part of the city, whero & number of new buildings wero in course of construction, three of which weretotally destroyed. The fine residence of B. H. Bicknell, agent for the B. & M. railroad, which was partually completed, was entirely destroyed. The loss falls on the contractor, Mr. Summers. The entire damage amounts to about $3,000. No lives were lost. The course of the storm was from southwest to northeast, The Fa Stroke. Oarraxn, Neb,, June 10.—[Special Tele- gram to the Bee.]—Albert Youngkins was the man killed yesterday afternoon by light- ning instead of Lundeen, as reported evening. He was living on Thomas Green wood's farm, nine miles southeast, and was hoeing in the garden. He was killed in- stantly. His boots were blown off and riddled and his clothes caught fire. After being mostly burnt off the fire was extinguished by his wife and lit- tle obild. The child was within a fow feet of its father and escaped injury. The wife saw him fall and rushed to his rescue, to him entirely lifeless. He was about thirty. five years old. He leaves a widow and three children, has a brother in Craig, a father somewhore in Towa, and was a picture of health and in the full vigor of li well known throughout this se Tkt e New Names For Streets. Crete will respond as sho should in the way of entertainment. ‘The famous flambeau club, which has in- creased its numbers, will be called to the front in the way of public drill and public parade. It will take part in the parade on the Fourth of July, and will also pive the best display of fire works that was ever given by any organization upon the evening of that day. Captain W. C. Henry, com- mander-in-chief of the G. A. R. of Nebraska, will be present. He will have with him the state G. A. R. band and also ten or fifteen prominent’ men from different parts of tho state, who will deliver addresses of from five to ten minutes each upon that evening. Taking it altogether the Fourth of July at Crete will be the grandest affair of the kind that was ever had in the state of Nebraska. St. Edward Farmers' Alliance. The capital stock has been placed at $6,000, of which $3,000 hus al- ready been subscribed. The prime object of the association is to build an elevator and stock yards, and put a man in_charge under the supervision of the board of directors, s0 that the farmers can handle their own products and get full value for them.
