One load brought the top price, £5.60, Charles Bridge, a pork packer and well known shipper, of Albany, New York, was among the visitors at the yards. A. They will remain some time as the guest of their son, Chlicago packers slaughtered nearly 400,000 hogs during December, 1887, or a total of 548 for the first two monthsof the present winter packing season. The dead hog question continues to attract much attention. The Nebraska Render- ing company was yesterday enjoined from using their house, on the ground of its be & nuisance, and will not be able to do any- thing until next week, when the question will come up before thedistrict court. If the injunction is made permanent the company will be obliged to remove their house ond the limits of South Omaha, where they will be able to continue the business the same as at present. Meanwhile, the Union Render- ing company is paying §1.75 per cwt. for dead hogs under 160 pounds, and 2¢ for hogs over that weight.
