DEMURALIZIN DEFEAT. The Keoknks Sl]fll Ulll BY e Union Pacifics Yesterday. Score 7 to Frenzer Game, The 0~ The Crelghton The hard Juck that a base ball sometimes plays in, was strikingly mani- feated in yesterday’s game between the Union Pacifics and the Keokuks of Keo- kuk Towa. Each nine was credited with six base hits, while seven of the Union acifics’ erossed the home plate making two earnod runs, the visiting team being completely shut out. The game was by far the best one scen on the home grounds for some time, and was particulary interosting from begin- ing to end, owing to the earncstness in which it was played by the Towans after viotory had become an impossibility for them. The visitors three times reached third but died there. The brilllant feature of the game was the graceful and strong playing of Fowler, the colored short stop who was the cynosure of all eyes. In the fifth innings McKelvey struck a fly to short left conter, which was supposed by all to bo a sate hit but was taken in by Fowler's running catch, and putting out Cavanaugh who nttempted to make third on the play. Walsh also made a beautiful on second by catching a beauti- ful fly muffed by McKelvy. The visitors are a fine appearing lot of players and a gentlemanly set of men, and although the game may be against them are nevertheless able to play ball.
