D. B. Houck Receives a Beantifl Wagon from Senator Cald- well, of Kansas, Two Mexican Veterans, A pleasant incident occurred at the Paxton hotel, in this city, one evening last fall. Ex-United States Senator Caldwell, of Kansas, whilo engaged in conversation with Judge Hawes, inquired of the judge if he knew a man in Omaha named Dorsey B. Houck. The judgo re, Houck up next morning and bring him tothe hotel. Caldwell and Mr. Houck sat down by themselves and fought their battles over. They were all through the Mexican war together, and their reunion was one that will be long remembered by them, Mr, Caldwell has become a prom- inent and wealthy man, being now the president of the Caldwell wagon manu- facturing company and also of the Idaho and Oregon Improvement company.
