The appointment was most unex- pected to Mr, Howe, who had nothing to do but to accept it. By the acceptance of this appointment Mr. Howe will fill the position formerly ocoupied by Hon. Renewal of the Dress Parades and Band Concerts at Fort Omaha, The citizens of Omaha will be pleased to learn that dress parades and band con- corts, at Fort Gmaha are to be resumed. The citizans of this city have derived a great deal of pleasure from a ride to the fort and witnessing the parade and listen- ing to the excellent music. Following is the order issued by Colonel Gibbon: Herenlter there will be dress parade at »maha overy evening (Saturday and Sundays excepted), at 6 o'clock p. m, and the Fourth infantry band will give a concert each afternoon from 4 to 5 Yolock p, m. Quino and Neide) are ordered to participate in the encampmeont of the Grand Army of the Republic at Sioux Clty, lowa in June.
