Jones before Judge Aylesworth yesterday, caused a largo gathering of the citizens of Neola, where the trouble arose, some being wit- nesses, many more intorested spectators, Jones has been doing the transfer busi- ness between the two depots, and Jet. Robinson, one agent, claimed that he de- livered to Jones two money packages, one for §19 and one for §4. After spending most of the day in hearing the case, Judge Ayles- worth discharged Jones. The judge held that that there was evidence showing |* that Jones received the packages, and that the other agent did not receive them from Jones, and that probably Jones would bo held responsible in a civil action but there was no evidence that he had acted criminally. The packages might have been lost by him in transit or disap- peared in somo other way. If a piece of one ot the envelopes or part of the mon- ey had been found in his possession, there having converted the money to his own use, but there was no such evidence. ‘When the accused was discharged, the crowd clapped their hands enthusiastical- ly, and Jones with his friends marched off in triumph. The feeling between the two agents at Neola, and the division of sentiment and sympathy in the community, have led to much strong feeling back of the outward case, and Neola has been greatly exer- cised over the arrest and prosecution, ‘What Everybody Ought to Know.
