During the " afternoon the market was irregular but near the close a woaker feeling prevailed and the steady improvement was partially lost. The result of the day’s trading was shown by the fact that out of thirty of the most active stocks ten are higher, sixteen lower and four unchanged from last night's closing prices. The principal ad- vances were, Chicago Burlington & Quincy 2 per cent, Rock Island 1 per cent, principal declines were, Omaha 13 per cent, Omaha preferred § per cent.
