Caldwell is only a month old and has about 456 buildings. This will make a good town and has a good country surrounding it, The country will make the town or rather keep 1t up, and it is also the end of a division at present, with a good prospect of a branch to Boise City. Cald- woll is located in the Boise valley and on the banks of the Boise river, There are large ranches of both stock and farming, raiso gram ofall kinds,and fruits The weather is very fine in Caldwell though there is plenty of snow on th hills. We are only about 15 miles from the Oregon line. Tt appears that the prime mover in the disturbance, who is a Russian Jew, had a long-standing grudge against A.
