The office of The Evening Globe. in this city, was yesterday sold by the Sher- iff for $2,800.35, this sum being the amount of claims held against it by J. F. Hart, Thomas Bowman and W,0. James. The sale therefore, leaves simply nothing for Mr. Morgan, who has been at the head of the concern for so long, and about an equal amount for the unsecured claimants. Of course there will now be a clnnge in the management. The change has for a long time been earnest- ly desired by some of tho Democratic po- litical leaders, and by some it is charged that the sale was the result of a delibor- ate freeze out by the leaders. This may be, tut it is claimed that every opportu- nity was afforded Mr. Morgan to dispose of his interest, and settle the claims, That the olaimants even offered him moro than they considered the office worth, if ho would sell it, but that he held on for a higher price. In any event Mr. Morgan is & loser, and has the sym- pathy of Tur Bre, and this paper hopes that his next newspaper venturo may terminate with greater financia! success, Swallowed the Street Cars, It is an open secret that the Council Bluffs street railway has beon absorbed by tho U.
