R. Scott to defend the injunction suit about the seot. FUN AT THE FAIR. All Arranzemefilx Complete for a Big Time This Week. The Programme and Pointers, Theo fair grounds will to-day put on a look of activity which will continue through the week. Everything possible has been done to secure a big show, and a largo crowd, and there is every reason to believe that Council Bluffs will not only have both, but that all who come to the city will be more than satisfied at the way the premises are met. Governor Hendricks is positively to speak Tuesday afternoon. He is a known orator, whom all will be glad to hear, and he certainly will have a big crowd to hear him. Friday afternoon, in the exposition building, will be the presentation of the 875 sewing machine to the boss girl of Western Towa. The presentation is to be made by Bill Nye, ecither in person or by letter, Stockholders and those desiring family tickets, can secure them by interviewing Henry Eisman. The track has been put in the best con- dition, and the showing of speed is ex- sected to be very fine as there are many }ut flyers hero. The Episcopalian ladies are to have a booth as last year. If they serve the public as well as last year, and they surc- ly will, their tables will be crowded A special police force is to presery der on the grounds, and special d tives are to be on the lookout for slick crooks. Half-hour trains will be run on the Union Pacific_company’s new Union Av- enue track this week, the fare between here and Omaha being twenty-five cents, It is proposed to keep the dust from flying at the driving park by a Jiboral sprinkling daily. There are aheady about 400 entrics and there will be a rush to.day. Then there are are about 100 as fine horses for the races as ever gathered on any course. Tuenday will be children’s day, all under 14 to be admitted free. Thursday is citizen’s day, and all stores and ofices aro expected to bo closed in the afternoon, that all may have a chance to attend the fair. Pusey. is evening there will be an informal reception at the Ogden house, and to-morrow he will give a [mli. tical apeech in the forenoon at 11 o'clock in Baylias' Lmrk and an address at the driving park in the afternoon. — Kirkland has a large stock of watches which he will cheap. | — A TERRIBLE TUMBLE, A Six Year Old Boy Falls From Madison Strect Bridge, Yesterday forenoon little Robbie, the six year old son of Capt. Wilson had a terrible fall. He saw his father coming across the temporary foot bridge at Mad- ison stroet, and the little fellow glecfully started from the other side of the bridge to meet him. His foot caught on the cloats, which are nailed there to prevent passers along slipping on the descent, and by thus catching he fell, and tumbled over the side down to the creck bed below, a distance of fifteen or twenty feot. It was thought, of course, that he must bo killed, but on picking him up it was found that he was not fatally in- jured, the water and soft earth where he foll having saved him from death.
