Rockawitz Proposes to Make Those Smart Who Arrested Him For Larceny. A short time ago complalnt was en- tered agalnst Charles Rockawitz, a | well-known resident of this city, charging him with larceny of a cow|: belonging to Mrs. Murphy. It was olaimed by the prosecution that the cow was slaughtered by Rockawitz and that by a search warrant its hide was found but not the beef. When the case came up for trial on Saturday the prosecution cowed down complete- ly, and the case was dismissed. It appears from Rockawitz's slde of the affalr, corroborated by witnesses, that Mrs. Murphy's cow was dead in the road, and J[uhn Coyle notified him to that effect. Rockawltz, who has a rendering establishment, and who at- tends to nearly all soch cases for the clty, at once took steps to remove the body, as he does those of other animals found | ¢ dead in the highway, and which neea|' to be removed, so that instead of com- mitting larceny he really performed a sanitary service, Mrs. Marphy and ona Donahoe seemed to be the lead- ing spirits In the prosecutlon, and clalmed to have evidence to prove that he really stole the cow, but on being more closely questioned by the attor- neys prosecuting the case, it was dis- covered that they knew nothing of the | ' sort, and that the real facts were as sbove stated. Hence the attorneys|' dropped the case like a hot potato, Rockawitz feels that this is not enough satisfactlon, however, for belng paraded before the public as a thief, and has now commenced action against Donahoe and Murphy for malictors presecution, placing the damages at $5,000, and has retalned Col, Keatley as hls attorney. How It 1s Made to Serve the Sick and do away with Aches and Pains, One of the most Interesting eatab. lishments in the oty for any oune scientifioally inclined to visit, is that of Mrs. Dr. E, J. Hardlng, of Broad w She ts an enthusiast, and yet a o oareful student In that new school of electropathy, which has now become as surely & distinot school as any of the old ‘‘pathies.” One oan- not hear her explain her methods and show the workings of her wonderfully tngenious electro-machines and appli- ances, and listen to her clear givings of the reason for the faith that is witn- in her, without becoming more or less {nspired with the belief that she work In a field full of thought and of value. She has now almost a bewild- erment of machines and applisnces of the latest and best improvements, and of eviry kind and form for giving elec :lo ..catment, and as many here now cheerfally testify, she handles all these with the Intelligence and experi- ence necossary to secure the most sure and satisfactory results. Here are foradlo and galvanic bat. terles, aud heroe s one very Ingenlous- ly combin'ng both. Hore ls the electrlc chair, and yonder in the corner s her latest acqalsition, an electro-static machire, one of the latest improvements, by Prof. Taepler, of the Polytechnic school at Dresden, This Is Indeed a wonderful machine. The atmospheric change or,pecullarity can prevent its belng used satisfactorlly for all mediclnal purposes. It s so powerfal that it sends a flash several inches long, and can be made to pro- duce lightning s zlg zag and atartling a9 that of the heavens. Many electrt- cal phenomenas, some of them beauti- fal indeed, can be produced by it, and yet with all its power 1t can be &0 reg- ulated that it treats with more tender- ness than coold any mother's hand the dellcate eye of a babe without a twinge or pain, J.
