Applications have been recelved from 8,000 knights, but the committee will b prepare for 15,000 visitors, as this Iatter number is probably a correct eatimate of guests who will have to be provided for. Two large commander fes from Ohioago and 8t Loals will have their headquarters at the Baldwin, and private citizens are com- tng forward with a comwendable dis- | bed play of hospltality in offering to place over 1,600 rooms In residences at the disposal of the committee. The sys- tem by which guests wiil be received is as follows: Oa arrival In the city they will proceed Immediately to the headquarters of the Accommodation Oommittee and make known the num ber for whom they wish accommoda- tions furnished. They will then be assigned to elther hotels or private houses, in the same manner as guests of a hotel are assigned vo rooms, THE DECORATIONS, Last evening the committee on deo- orations was organized. It was de- oided to send communfoations to all commanderies in the United States for a coat of armsand banner to be placed among the decorations of the pavillon, The committee do not expeot any contly souvenirs, but any style that the visitlog commanderios may see fit to donate The matter of arches in street decorations was considered, and three very beautlful designs were submitted by John M. Ourtls. Oa the columps are to be banners and emblems of the several visiting commanderies.
