A Jury Estimates the Value of One Foot at $6,000-Uther Oases on Hand The jary in the oars of John Wat- son vs. the Wabash, St. Louis & Pa oific roilway company, brought ina verdict sbout 10 o'clock yesterday forenoon, sfier having been closeted consuiting shout the matter about 4 o’clock in the afternoon of the day preyious, about cighteen hours, The tinding was in favor of Wataon, and the amount awarded him being £6,000. It is understood that several of the jury were in favor of a larger since amount, which was the cause of the delay in ranch- ing 8 verdist. This action was brought to recover damages tor an injury received by the plaintiff, through the negligence of the defen- dants, switching a car in upon the track where the plaintiff was unload- ing a lumber ocar, without notifying him of its approach. The plaintiff in his effort to escape the danger, and in his confusion got his right foot orushed between the drawheads of tte osrs.
