MEROHANDIEE, Spectal Dispatchos to T PITTSBURG, Prrrssure, November 24,—This was another day of anxiety at the oil exchange. The market opened weak, with a lack of confidence, and prices declined in a short time from $1 01 to 87 cents, but afterwards they recovered a little and closed firmer at 94} cents. During the downward course the wildest excitement pre- vailed, and large blocks of oil were sold to satisfy margins. Transactions were very heavy and mdny thousands of dollars wero lost. As yet, however, no failures have been an- nounced. In the afternoon the market showed con- sideralle improyement and advanced from 94c at opening of lhauensmu to96dc. Sales for the day were 4,365,000 barrels. It is the general impression unc the worst has been [)J!}e.l and that to-day witnessed the culennation of the whole manipulating |1 echeme which proved o disastrous to hun- dreds in this city as well as in Oil City and Bradtord, .—The Live NEW YORK, New York, November 24, — Coffee— Dall and unchanged.
