As the Veiled Prophets procession was passing down Washington avenue to-night the section of seats erected between Twelfth and Thirteenth streets fell, seriously injuring several persens, The seats were twenty feet high and had been constructed to hold about 300 persons, but double that number crowded upon them and tha structure gave way under the weight. TIRED OF LIFE. A Successful and an Unsuccessaful Attempt at Suicide. The inmates of the dive of Kate McNamara, east of the Metropolitan hotel, got on aglorious old drunk Monday afternoon, and at about b o'clock a colored woman, Anna Ephraimson, living in the house, took morphine with the intention of com- mitting suicide. A physician was called in at once and administered a proper emetic, and after about three hours of hard work pronounced her out of danger. A MORE SUCCESSFUL ONE, About 5 o'clock Sunday evening a tailor named Griep, Who resided at Fremont, took a dose of about two ounces of laudanum, and stretching himself out on his table, abandoned himself to death, The grim wvisitor put in appearance about 1 a. m. The deceased was an Odd Fellow, and his lifo was insured tor $3,000. No cause is assigned for the rash act. -— THE GLEE CLUB.
