The Preparations Being Made to Welcome and Care for the Veterans. Next Thursday is the opening day of the soldiers’ reunion to be held here, and is to be continued Friday and Saturday, Friday will be the great day, Arrangements have been mude to hold the reunion on the fair grounds, where there are mary ac con nodations not to be had else- where, Tho teats Lave arrived, and othiee preliminarios are being arranged. This gathering will be an important and interesting one, and there should on the part of the citizens to make it suscessfol, The reputation of Coun- cil Bluffa for hospitality is at stake, and it behooves every resident of this city by the test to which it will be put. It Daniel Selleck, who lives a little out of the city, was complained of by a neighbor, L. P. Brown, who charged him with stealing twonty ears of corn from his held, the value of the same being fifty cents. Brown claims that he has missed many little things from his place, and that when Selleck was away from home the pilfering ceased, but when he returned it began again. Saturday morning he caught him stealing the corn, and though it amounted to litt it gave him a chance to get o 1 even. Selleck pleaded gnilty to taking the corn, and Judge Aylesworth tines him $50 and costs.
