An attempt was made yesterday morning to wreck the ncoming pas. senger train No. 4 on the O, & N, W railroad a short distance this side of An iron rail had been laid across the track but was discovered in time to bring the train to a dead stop and a brakeman went ahead to re. move the rail but a man in the brush near by threatened to shoot him if he touched it. Other trainmen came up at this time to his assistance. The party or parties in the brush hurried- ly skipped out, It is not certain whether it was & drunken man or a regular set of train robbers.
