Robison, right of way attorney for the Oregon Short Line, and a resident of this city, died on Tuesday at Mont- pelier, Idaho, of pneumonis. Mr. Robison started a few weeks ago from Omaha on his return trip to Idaho, where he had been engaged in the service of the company for over a year past. The last letter received from him was dated >n the 3d inst., and announced that he was in excel- lent health. A little over a week ago he was taken ill, and on Friday Mrs. Robison and hersister, Mrs. Ringer, were telegraphed to come at once if they hoped to see him alive. They reached his bedside only a few houra before he breathed his last. The body was Tuesday returned to Granger station, yes.erday Mr. Will Bakecr John G, Jacobs' establishment left for the west with an elegant cas- ket purohaced,to embalm the remain®, Mr. Robison was a Pennsylvanian by birth, and received his educa‘ion at Princeton colls where he gradu- ated in 1874 in the same class with the Rev. Mr. Harsha of this city. Im- mediately after graduation he entered upon the study of law, and was ad-|g mitted in 1877 to the Pennsylvania bar. Coming west the same year he opened an office in Lincoln, but sub- sequently spent a number of months in ranching in Custer county. In the fall of '78 he entered tho law office of John C. Cowin, with whom he ;was associated for nearly two years. He was married in 1880 to Miss Nyman, a sister of Mrs. C. A. Ringer, of this city, and shortly after received an ap- pointment in the law department of the Union Pacific, which he held until [ & the time of his death. Mr. Robison was an earnest and con=istent member of the Presbyterian church in Omaha. Genial, manly, generous and warm hearted, he made many friends by whom he was greatly respected for his high integrity and many sterling qualitier, His family will have the eincere condolences of our citizens and the members of the Douglas eounty bar in their bereavement. Two observation cars; for the Utah & Nevada, now being built at the U. P. shops in this city, will be finished in a few days, and a mail car for the Utah & Northern course of con- struction, There isalso a lot of 150 cars for the Denver & South Park road being built. At present the U. P. locomotive department has at the shops in this city nearly 700 men, or about eighty less than there was in Fabruary.
