The resolution was adopted that notice is served on the persons named, or their defenders, that the board of directors of the league will never remit penalties in- flicted on such persons, nor will they hereafter consder any appeal from them or in their behalf. She was addicted to liquor, and went to get some last night while the rest of the family were abod. Criminal Carelessness. CHicaco, December 8—10 p. m.— A switch encine on the Michigan Southern railroad ran into an Archer avenue car at midnight last night. The car was demolished, and the pas- sengers, about twenty-five in number, almost inextricably mixed up with the wreck. Some eight or ten were in- jured, but none fatally. The driver, Cornelius Halloran,had hisleg broken. The engineer, N. J. Ford, was arrest. ed. He saya the flagman signalled him to come ahead, and he did not see tho street car until too late.
