To begin with, the poor and unfortunate woman is & tenant in a small house ownod by Oleson. About ten o'clock last Wednesday night, just as she was re- tiring, the defendant called at the houss and demanded admission. She asked who was there and then refused bim admiseion. Whereupon be broke open the door, and then demand- ed matches to light the lamp. The woman and her two children were very much frightened and after be had received tho matches and struck a light, ke was again ssked to withdraw. He refused to go, and at once made a base proposition to her, aud was re- fused.
