RAILEOAD STRIKE. About 10 o'clock yesterdsy morn- ing the switehmen of the Indianapolis & St. Lows ratiroad yards struck for higher wages. The company dis- charged all the strikers and employed new ones iu their places at an advance of ten cents per day, what the strikers demanded. TROUBLE ABOUT WAG Telegrams from Urbana, 1lls., stated that the’ Indianapolis, Bloom- ingten and Western railway company attempted to pay off the hands at_the shops in that city with scrip on New York banks, and_that the employes refused to take it. They demanded cash. The railway officials here know nothing of the affair more than they supposed it was a piece of spite work on the part of the local banks, which refused to honot checks of the New York correspondents in which the money of the company are deposited.
