Those who have read ang thrilled over The First Hundred Thousand will welcome the announcement that the suthor, Major Ian Hay Beith, has returned to this country and will give a series of lectures throughout the United States. He will lecture at Slater $all tonight at § o'clock. His new lecture is entitled Carry- ing On, and is an up-to-date account of the progress of the great war from the standpoint of the allies. He has within the past four months paid three visits to the war front in France, spent much time with the Americin army, now preparing in France, vis- itea our battleships and destroyers, spent considerable time with the Brit- ish fleet and army and is prepared to give a vivid, first hand account of the conditions that now maintain. Major Beith {llustrates his talk with pictures whith he has taken and which have never before been shown. He was assisted on every side by the British foreign office, under whose auspices he is appearing in this coun- try and his statements bear an official stamp. One of the interesting phases of his investigation was the tracing to their source of a number of stories that have been given credence. both by the British and American public, tending to create distrust. As in his former lecturs, he will lay emphasis on the human side and true to his Scotch sense of humor, will relate many amusing anecdotés and mirth provoking uch as take away some of the grimness of war. {0 a: who have the wit to discover Big Campaign Rally at Y.
