Washington, Aug 15—The New England coal committee, speaking for industries in that section, expressed anxiety today to President Wilson lest ships now used in transporting coal from Atlantic ports north should he put in the transport service and the amount of fuel greatly reduced. They pointed out that a large part of the New England coal supply is transported by water. The president said he expected to designate a member of the priority board connected with the war indus try board to care particularly for coal shipments, and he was certain New England would not be slighted.
